[attr="class","lancepost"]unlike the other security assigned to guard this prize fight, lance blends in well with the crowd. he keeps himself busy with a bag of popcorn, tossing one into his mouth every now and then as he maintains constant awareness of the surroundings.

inside the ring, two hitmonchan are squaring off in an intense boxing match. the one delivers a flurry of punches before landing the finishing blow worthy. lance recognizes this combo as LUCKY STRIKE. the bell rings and the last fight of the undercard is over.

up above in the rafters, his hawlucha TAUNTS the victorious hitmonchan. but the distance is too far for the fighting-type to do anything. what a bully.

She waves her hand, attempting to shoo the Pokemon despite being several feet below him.

but she's already elbow deep so what's the point of him responding? she's lucky he likes her otherwise he'd have to CANCEL their friendship. he moves the bag of popcorn closer to her to make it easier for her.

the final match of the night's about to start and out comes the two hitmonchan. one is dressed in black shorts and the other BLUE. they take their place in the ring and the fight soon commences.

the one in the blue shorts starts the fight by throwing a jab that unfortunately misses. perhaps the black shorts hitmonchan has a much smaller HITBOX than originally thought. the fight continues.

There's a satisfying crunch that comes from the popcorn, and she finds herself mesmerized by the fight but also blindly searching for the popcorn.[break][break]

Her hand overshoots the bag that he's pushed closer to her and she bumps her hand against his chest. Confused, she glances at her hand before fishing back into the bag again.[break][break]

"Could use more salt."[break][break]

Stormy sighs softly, a contented noise. Though she glances back to Lance and up to the Hawlucha when he's given a name.[break][break]

"Wait, he's yours? Makes sense, actually."[break][break]

She smirks.

lance leans forward slightly because he recognizes the change of tempo in the fight. the black shorts hitmonchan throws a solid right that HITSTUNS the opponent. this allows it to close the distance to deliver precise punches, JUGGLING the blue shorts hitmonchan. the crowd bursts into applause, cheering.

"makes sense? explain."

a small window of opportunity presents itself and the blue shorts hitmonchan capitalizes on it. it returns a punch but the opponent remains well-guarded, keeping his hands up like a trained fighter would. but all it takes is a little slip and the blue shorts hitmonchan successfully maneuvers into a CROSS-UP. now behind its opponent, its punch lands cleanly.

"you're pretty distracting yourself."

"i haven't decided yet."

but he has and he knows it. now that the fight is over, kel soars back down and lands on the seat in front of them. lance smiles, leaning forward to give the fighting-type a FIST BUMP.

"all clear?"
